Description[?]:
http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1803 I suggest we form one and enter, our being the Luthori Imperial Cavaliers. (The Drum Corp Cavaliers will obviously be ours). As a taste of the kind of stuff that they do, I give you the following link. The picture is not great, but the sound is not too bad and you can make out most of it. Message | Mr Speaker, The role of the government is to protect the citizenry from physical attack and to support the preservation of Luthori traditional values. We do not see this proposal as pertaining to those goals, therefore it would be a waste of public money, which is apparently valued only by the LDP and the CIL. We oppose, if the members of Parliament want a drum corps, they can pay for it out of their own pocket, they should not steal from the Luthori people. I yield. |
Date | 11:02:09, August 28, 2009 CET | From | Liberal Democratic Party of Luthori | To | Debating the Creation of a Drum Corp |
Message | Mr Speaker, The LDP of Luthori has no problem whatsoever with our nation being represented in international competitions, however we support the conclusions made by our allies at the CIL that the costs for it should under no circumstances be borne by the state. I yield. |
Date | 12:42:06, August 28, 2009 CET | From | Fatah al-Islam | To | Debating the Creation of a Drum Corp |
Message | OOC: I liked the name when I misread it as Imperial Cavaliers. Isn't a Clavier a type of accordion or something like that? IC: Mr. Speaker, Presumably there are avenues such as sponsorship and prize money through which the Drum Corp could fund themselves? We have to agree that we do not see this to be a fitting use of public money, and would a costly way to bring publicly funded entertainment to a limited audience. Though we do wish them the best of luck. I yield. |

Message | OOC: Crap, I misspelled it, damn Word and Spell check!!! I will fix the Title. IC: Mr. Speaker, I am sorry you misunderstood. The Drum Corp would pay for itself, but we as a nation must vote on whether it should exist or not, that is what this vote is for. It is not on the state paying for it. I yield. |

Random fact: Did you know you can change the official name of your nation? All you need to do is draw up a new name that is in accordance with the Nation Renaming Guide, pass a bill proposing the name change with a two-thirds majority and then post a request to Moderation on the "Renaming Requests" thread. You can change city and region names in this way too. |
