Bill: Prison Labour Laws
Details
Submitted by[?]: United Democrats
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2815
Description[?]:
We at the New Democratic Party of Rutania believe giving prisoners the choice to work in return for a small wage. This would not only help to rehabilitate these offenders by giving them responsibility and a sense of purpose, but It may also help lift some of the burden on the prison system. As it stands now, all able-bodied prisoners have to work during the day. |

Message | The REP does not like to support bills which were not left to debate and discuss. Though we are aware that the NDPR is an inexperienced party, so we will not be so harsh this time. But please at the next occasions do not put the bill directly to vote. Regarding the substance of this piece of legaislation we have to state that we believe in the re-educating role of the prisons. The NDPR's argumentation convinced us. |

Message | We believe that prison is a place of punishment; not a place where prisoners should be able to earn a wage, just as they would be if they weren't in prison at all. Any 'work' prisoners take part in should be hard labour, as retribution rather than 're-education', and they certainly should not be paid for it. |

Random fact: Moderation will not accept Cultural Protocol updates which introduce, on a significant scale, cultures which are likely to be insufficiently accessible to players. In particular, for all significant cultures in Particracy, it should be easy for players to access and use online resources to assist with language translation and the generation of character names. Moderation reserves the right to amend Cultural Protocols which are deemed to have introduced significant cultures that are not sufficiently accessible and which are not being actively role-played with. |
