Message | OOC - was this up for debate, it would have been fun to debate. apologies if I missed it. IC - Agreed. state funded public libraries managed by local communities reduces the risk of censorship and increases opportunities for education. Job hunting, higher education, early learning, and the general appreciation of literature is boosted by public libraries. This also negates to exclusionary affect of an entrance fee, a risk with private companies. As for protecting historical heritage, I find that the proposal has merit, but FRP would prefer to see it as a separate bill. Nevertheless FRP will vote "yes". Should the bill fail, let us agree to reintroduce the bills separately. Thank you. |
