Bill: Budget proposal of October 2825
Details

Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill proposes to change the allocation of funds in the budget. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2826
Description[?]:
The Traditionalist Liberty Party propose to adjust the government's spending budget to better address the economic and social situation of the Pontesian Dynastic Empire. All of the small departments that we feel should not play a large role in the economy have been awarded a budget of 1 billion PON. This is definately sufficient, as it allows for 10,000 jobs paying 50,000 PON (about $75,000 CDN), 10 million in advertising/public affairs costs, 20 million in building and maintainence costs, 10 million for transportation costs, 10 million for insurance/health plans, and another 450 million to do the job they are assigned to. The large numbers will be reduce in the future. Everything else has been adjusted to allow for a 5% GDP government spending. Defense, Health, Education, External Affiars, and police are our spending targets for the next while. These will be adjusted in later budgets. Our aim now should be on transfering the rest of the money to the regional governments. Federalism! Liberty! Responsibility! |

Message | Mr. Speaker, We will vote yes, however, we would like to see a cut in ALL areas of spending... not increases in some with cuts in others. Yield. |
Date | 08:10:48, October 01, 2009 CET | From | Nrzi Prta (Democratic Party) | To | Debating the Budget proposal of October 2825 |
Message | The coalition of invaders continue to show their lack of understanding in Pontesi's economic by proposing this ridiculous budget that will destroy Pontesi's economy and cripple our nation. Comparing to our neighbour, our new budget will only result in an entire destruction of Pontesi capability to compete in global market and the capability to defence our nation. |
Date | 11:46:48, October 01, 2009 CET | From | One Nation Conservative Party | To | Debating the Budget proposal of October 2825 |
Message | This proposal is a pugnacious attempt to undermine the integrity of the Pontesian Empire. The new coalition of parties that cast their shadows over this great land seek nothing more than to conspire towards the disintegration of our Commonwealth. |
Date | 17:15:09, October 01, 2009 CET | From | Verititas Splendor Party | To | Debating the Budget proposal of October 2825 |
Message | The VSP would like to hear the definition used for the term "Commonwealth". |

Message | The VSP would like to point out that the budget cut to defense still places Pontesi as the 2nd largest investor in regards to our borders and countries within imminent domain. The largest being our Jewish neighbours who invest more than 100% of our current defense budget. Which would beg the question of whether or not we should increase our budget (the defense budget consuming more than our entire spending budget by over 300 billion alone). Would such an arms race really beget peace? |

Message | Mr. Speaker, Socialism is the bane of society. It does nothing but destroy social order in the name of giving power to those who desire it most. The great economist of the 20th century showed that socialism must always fail because it destroys the price system; the price system being the very system that ensures a well-functioning economy. We suggest that the socialist parties of this nation take another look at freedom. We suggest that the people of Pontesi are not so stupid. We suggest that they can handle their affairs FAR better than we in this body. Let the people live as they please. If not, it is we who will be in failure. Yield. |

Message | The VSP is confused by the term "Coalition of Invaders", from whence came our parties? The VSP was founded in Abure as a vocal point for the Catholic population. |
