Bill: Parliament Act 2827
Details
Submitted by[?]: Liberal Democratic Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2828
Description[?]:
The 'senate' generally refers to the upper house in the bicameral legislature of a nation or state. I think it is misleading to have this term to refer to our legislative system as we have a single parliament. Therefore, parliament is a much more fitting term. |

Message | We have no qualms with Article 1 of this bill, however, Senate refers to the federal nature of our government, and there's really no reason to change the names of the commonwealths to regions. It may be a better idea to change the names from Regional Commonwealth to just Commonwealth. |
Date | 23:05:44, October 04, 2009 CET | From | Rutanian Elitist Party | To | Debating the Parliament Act 2827 |
Message | The 'Senate' term refers to the genuinely decentralized character of our nation. The Regional Commonwealths (local governments) have their own legislative bodies. Our nation has this tradition and we do not wish to alter this situation. |

Message | We prefer the existing names for the reasons outlined by the OP and the REP - Rutania's governence has a grand tradition of federalism, decentralization and localism, and the names for our legislative body and regions reflect this. |
Date | 19:07:45, October 05, 2009 CET | From | Liberal Democratic Party | To | Debating the Parliament Act 2827 |
Message | We do not have an upper house that oversees our parliament, therefore we believe it to be misleading. We have a national representative body having supreme legislative powers within the state. This is the definition of 'parliament'. Orange Party: Would you consider voting yes with the removal or article 2? |
