| Message | If we keep that taxes low on these companies, they will be able to compete and reduce prices on their own. If we regulate prices, they will treat that price as if it were a backroom deal - there would be no room for competition. Let's say that your bill were to pass. In the event that the cost of energy increases to no fault of the energy companies and they need to charge more but arent allowed, people will lose jobs, the companies will go in debt, and the government will probably end up bailing this company out. The real way to decrease the price of energy is to deregulate it, not the other way around. This bill is pure fascism (or communism or whatever cute sounding -ism you want to name it). The free, undisturbed market is the only way for energy to be at a natural price. |

| Message | We feel no soreness from the kitten licking words of the Freedom Party or her associated harem of prepubescents. Regarding the points forwarded by the TLP, companies are not obliged to offer low prices for the simple reason that their profits are safe from national taxes. Indeed, this regulation is aimed at preventing price fixing whereby the various energy companies work together in order to artificially inflate the price of energy units. The Freedom Party believes that this is acceptable and thus supports the status quo. This bill seeks to implement true capitalism by ensuring that price fixing does not take place and ensuring that true competition takes place. The regulations involved shall be linked to the raw energy prices so if energy units increase in price, then the companies shall be authorised to increase their rates for new customers and on renewal of contracts. At the moment, without regulation protecting the customer, companies can cancel agreements or implement rate hikes without providing the base price originally agreed. This bill thus ensures the customer is completely aware of the price that they will be paying over the period. This bill is neither fascist nor communist. Indeed it protects the customers and actually promotes capitalism through enhancing competition rather than the other way around. |

| Message | "Enhancing competition" can never be done by state-offered favors. Price fixing cannot occur on the free market for long. This is because of the problem of the oligarch. Each oligarch has an incentive to undercut the other company. If they do not, then they simply function as one company. We then move to the problem of the extremely large firm. A firm that has no knowledge of prices outside of its own boundaries (i.e. the "monopolist) is doomed to eventual failure because it cannot calculate production. This is the problem of any socialist economy, except on a larger scale. |

| Message | The Freedom Party believes that price fixing is acceptable because they think that it won't last forever. What a ridiculous stance to take! His theory does not eliminate price fixing it merely states that it MIGHT not last over a sustained period of time. While there is a counter argument that would say that any company which is guarenteed to be able to force customers to pay a highly inflated price would be reluctant to remove themself from a price fixing agreement. And so the only sure way of preventing price fixing is to support limited regulation in the system. |
