Message | We support not just limiting, but banning all death contraptions. Terra-Dantma |
Date | 18:38:31, October 25, 2009 CET | From | Rutanian Elitist Party | To | Debating the Gun Control Laws 2838 |
Message | Taking into account the current situation in Rutania we shall support this measure. If we consider it seriously the bill does not aims to block people of having firearms, it only imposes certain restrictions which ensure that those arms are not used for malign purposes. |
Date | 18:43:24, October 25, 2009 CET | From | Liberal Democratic Party | To | Debating the Gun Control Laws 2838 |
Message | Question: Do the DPR wish to see a Rutania which makes ownership of guns illegal? |
Date | 18:57:17, October 25, 2009 CET | From | United Democrats | To | Debating the Gun Control Laws 2838 |
Message | Yes we do. But we feel that it be a gross infringement on the traditions of the Rutanian people, who were here along time before both the LDP or DPR were established. Surely the LDP would agree that this is better than nothing. |
Date | 19:02:29, October 25, 2009 CET | From | Liberal Democratic Party | To | Debating the Gun Control Laws 2838 |
Message | Well we think that a gun-free society would be to the benefit of Rutanian's everywhere. And we would point out that the LDP are made up of Rutanian's who don't believe in guns. So we would support a ban on all guns. I am confused by your last message, either you want a ban or not. |
Date | 19:56:12, October 25, 2009 CET | From | United Democrats | To | Debating the Gun Control Laws 2838 |
Message | We would like a ban on guns but we will not get it, we have a chance on passing stricter licensing regulation... Do you want stricter licenses or very few restrictions at all...? These are the options. |
Date | 20:58:35, October 25, 2009 CET | From | Liberal Democratic Party | To | Debating the Gun Control Laws 2838 |
Message | Why would you not get it? I'm sure the PPR would vote to ban guns therefore it would pass. |
Date | 21:10:30, October 25, 2009 CET | From | United Democrats | To | Debating the Gun Control Laws 2838 |
Message | I wouldn't like to speak on behalf on the PPR so I couldn't say, but it would strike me as odd if they did. |
Date | 21:52:04, October 25, 2009 CET | From | Rutanian Heritage Party | To | Debating the Gun Control Laws 2838 |
Message | We believe our position on these issues is well known, by now. The criminal justice system should target criminals, not merely the tools they use to commit their crimes, especially as these tools are also used responsibly by the legal gun-owning population for sport, recreation, and self-defence. Restricting gun-ownership doesn't hurt criminals - it hurts law-abiding gun-owners. |
Date | 22:05:42, October 25, 2009 CET | From | Rutanian Restoration Party | To | Debating the Gun Control Laws 2838 |
Message | We stand with the RHP on this issue. Anyone who does not have a criminal or bad psychological record should be allowed to own firearms should they so wish. |
Date | 13:50:13, October 26, 2009 CET | From | People's Party of Rutania | To | Debating the Gun Control Laws 2838 |
Message | The PPR see this as a step in the right direction. There is a long history of gun-ownership in Rutania and before the law can be changed the culture must subside. This bill still gives law abiding people the right to own guns but will over time scale back the current gun culture. We see this as a step forward as currently it is easier to obtain a gun than a car in Rutania. While both these objects are killing machines, only one is purpose built. |
Date | 20:41:33, October 26, 2009 CET | From | Liberal Democratic Party | To | Debating the Gun Control Laws 2838 |
Message | We will support this on the understanding that we are progressing to a gun-free society. |
Date | 23:52:47, October 26, 2009 CET | From | Rutanian Heritage Party | To | Debating the Gun Control Laws 2838 |
Message | Rutania will never be a 'gun-free society', nor should it be. This country has a proud tradition and culture of legal gun-ownership, and there is no reason this should be impeded by efforts to prevent firearm-related crime. We have said it many times before, and we will say it again - firearm-related crime and legal gun ownership are two completely exclusive things, yet the leftist parties in Rutania seem to be targeting the latter to try and solve the former. |
