Bill: Holton Act 2839
Details
Submitted by[?]: Liberal Democratic Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2841
Description[?]:
Rutania still enjoys relatively low taxation. I am proposing a small rise in taxation on the percentage of profits made by corporations and sales tax on luxury goods (which is still very low). There is no change presently with the essential goods tax. The bulk of the new revenue will be spent on our new national education system and a rise in police funding (including new gun regulations department). Message | The RHP oppose this legislation, not only because a 20% corporations tax would be prohibitive and punishing, damaging economic productivity and incentive, but because we fundamentally oppose what the proposed tax-revenue is intended to be used for. The LDP's recent education policies give the federal government a tyrannical monopoly on the school system and its curriculum, and allow it to exhert undue influence over the subjects and the ways in which Rutania's children are taught, despite the concerns of local families and communities. These policies must be repealed as soon as possible. |
