| In order to encourage devolution of powers, and to empower local citizens to more directly control their own governments, we propose the direct elections of local mayors in all towns and cities over a size of 10,000 citizens. Smaller municipalities and unincoporated areas may also choose to have a directly elected mayor if they so desire, but are not required to by law. |
