Bill: Media Privatization Act (2131)
Details
Submitted by[?]: People's Democratic Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 2133
Description[?]:
We don't need this, it's best left to the private sector. We don't like the idea of having a state-owned radio and television station as it will be biased. It will save us a lot of money too. |

Message | I also disagree with this. Public television and radio, so long as no political bias is presented, is a valuable resource for the community. Those tied specifically to standard radio antennas to aquire all of their AV media will not have access to educational programming, which is to the benefit of all. |

Message | I agree with this. It is in the best interest of the people. |
Date | 18:17:44, October 29, 2005 CET | From | Progressive Party | To | Debating the Media Privatization Act (2131) |
Message | I must disagree with this proposed law. We only have one television and one radio station. The rest are private; the majority are private. We can easily have one to inform people on what is going on. |

Random quote: "In Germany they first came for the Communists and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me--and by that time no one was left to speak up." - Pastor Martin Niemoller |
