Message | Very strongly opposed. So-called "intellectual property", is merely the totally unnecessary and wasteful intrusion of the state to take away people's freedoms. It impoverishes society by intentionally hindering the free exchange and usage of ideas and information, and senselessly harming people who make use of them. |

Message | Bah, that's just Commie talk! Intellectual property is the result of one's work, efforst and investments, just like material goods. And as such, shall receive the same kind of protection form the state as material property. 'Exchange' is always mutual, while what you're defending is just legal theft. It's like saying food markets "impoverish society by intentionally hindering the free exchange and usage of food". |

Message | That's an inappropriate and misleading comparison. A necessary condition of "theft", is that it deprives the original holder of the use of the item. If I have a car, and you take the car, I don't have a car anymore. That is theft. If I have an idea, and you use the idea, I still have the idea. It is NOT theft. |
