Bill: Identity Cards Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Novy Smer Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2133
Description[?]:
If we are issuing national identity cards it seems silly to not require people to carry them. People should be able to prove who they are. The only reason someone could have for wanting to avoid identification is if they are doing something they feel they shouldn't (a crime perhaps?) and in which case they shouldn't be doing it!!!! |

Old value:: All citizens are issued with identity cards but are not required to carry them.

Message | As we have said before, it is oppressive to require a citizen to carry a card at all times. They may forget, it might be inconvenient, or they could be going to the beach. To say that citizens need not carry them at all times does not make them useless. Some countries, for example, have a system where police can demand the card, and if the citizen does not have it with them, they must report to the police station with the card at a later date. However, FBSP's view is that state-issued identity cards are an unnecessary expense and should be abolished. |
