Bill: The Sanity Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: International Forwardist Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2134
Description[?]:
This bill is mainly meant to get one thing across: what a rational government should do to protect the lives of the people it represents. We believe that the average man should have the ability to turn the sweat from his back into cash in his pocket, to improve his own life without fear that his efforts be stolen from him to pay the welfare checks of those too lazy to find work for themselves. we do not believe that people should be kept slaves to corporations, because we all have the right to a reasonable wage and a healthy workplace, but we do not believe that the government should babysit its populace, taking everything they have and giving them barely what they need to survive. We call for a moderate economic system, where people are given the opportunity to excel, but nobody is given the opportunity to exploit others. Nobody decided what i do with my life, mind, or body, and nobody decides what to do with my labors, money, or property. |

Message | please note that i will actually hold this in debate before setting it to a vote. can we please start doing this? with that last bill in particular, i would have preferred that the latter two options were in a seperate bill than the first. i would have like to have voted for that one, but was given no time to state my preference. |

Message | "nobody decides what to do with my labors, money, or property." Actually, the Dundorfian Soviets decide what you do with your money. ; ) Understand that Dundorfian politics are quite jaded and spiteful. We don't debate because we all know each other's opinions. Why should we compromise and go for this silliness when we have nearly 2/3 of all seats? Debate ended long ago, and now seems to be resevred only for coalition-making (which no longer happens anyway). Plus, when terms are only 24 months, nobody has the time to debate. Of course, nobody wants to extend the terms because that's undemocratic. So debaters are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Anyway, you know how we'll respond to this bill no matter how much we argue. |

Message | But at least if there were one or two articles that one of you were willing to jump the bandwagon on, i could split the bill and have at least part of it pass... |

Message | It was a joke. And it's different from slavery because everyone has extra income (income taxes aren't 100%) and they're given all kinds of luxuries. Slavery denies people control of money; we allow them to have a significant portion left over. |

Message | I support this bill. with a 100% coorporation tax they woun't want to work anymore, they would be able to pay there employees. both low-level or high-level. They will die. WIthout coorperations there will be a lack of orginization to get needed stuffs to people. Forcing people to join unions is just as bad as forcing them to join the military. People should be free to make their own choices! |

Random fact: "Game mechanics comes first." For example, if a currently-enforced bill sets out one law, then a player cannot claim the government has set out a contradictory law. |
