This Act will introduce tuition fees for those going on to study at university.

Those between the ages of 18 and 25, whose parents earn under 10,000HLR will have their tuition fully subsidized by the government. A maintenance loan of 3,000HLR over three years will be available.

Those between the ages of 18 and 25, whose parents earn between 10,000HLR and 19,999HLR will receive the entire loan amount, plus 3,000HLR maintenance costs over three years.

Those between the ages of 18 and 25, whose parents earn between 20,000HLR and 34,999HLR will receive the entire loan amount, plus 2,000HLR maintenance costs over three years.

Those between the ages of 18 and 25, whose parents earn between 35,000HLR and 49,999HLR will receive the entire loan amount, plus 1,500HLR maintenance costs over three years.

Those between the ages of 18 and 25, whose parents earn 50,000HLR and over will receive the entire loan amount.

Those over the age of 25 will be ineligible for loan support.

Loans shall be paid back once the individual is earning over 15,000HLR in a financial year, and the rate of interest shall remain effectively at 0%, rising only with the rate of inflation.

MessageWhy is this limited to those under 25? Retraining of the existing workforce is important too. Nevertheless, we will support this bill and support an amendment at a later date.
