WHEREAS cults inspire revolutionary and dangerous behavior in the citizenry,

WHEREAS Mordusian law only allows for recognized religions to act within our borders, lest cults attempt to organize as political movements.

WHEREAS there remains no process to determine the recognition of a religion,

The Imperial Diet of Mordusia ASSEMBLED, decrees the following:

1. The Terran Catholic Church, Holy Coptic Church of Mordusia, the Lutheran Christian Church, the Islamic Church of Mordusia, the Reformed Sunni Muslim Community, the Reformed Shia Islamic Community, the Mordusian Ashkenazi Jewish Community, the Orthodox Catholic Church, the Church of Mordusia, the Selucian Catholic Church, the Mordusian Baptist Church, the Mordusian Quaker Community, the Mordusian Pentecostal Assembly, the Mordusian United Methodist Church, the Taoist Movement of Mordusia, and the Mordusian Presbyterian Union are all recognized religions.

2. Any religion seeking recognition must be approved by the Imperial Diet by majority vote.

3. A two-thirds vote is required to remove any religion from recognized status.

4. All other cults and non-recognized groups shall be henceforth characterized the same as political organizations, with the same regulations and taxations applying, where applicable. All non-recognized religions will be required to have transparent dealings with the Government to ensure their operations are entirely legal and within the scope of law.
