| Message | If that treaty only permitted the recognition of the Republic of New Englia we would immediately vote to sign the treaty. However it also sneaks in terms mandating a 10 year non-aggression pact between all signatories. We cannot support that. We do not wish to promote war and strife but there may be times when Telamon must defend itself. We cannot allow Telamon to be saddled by this treaty that could prohibit Telamon from its self-defense. |

However, we must place Telamon first and that means we must be willing and ready to defend her at all costs. As such we must not be saddled by treaties that nobble us in terms of our defensive options. |
