MessageWhereby we would severely limit the abilitity of an important natural resource which would have to be substituted by increasing the production of such proven eco-friendly materials such as plastic and steel.
As the situation currently is, the law requires re-afforestation at higher than replacement levels, which, combined with the need to apply for a licence for any logging, is far more sensible than this proposal.

MessageWe do realise that the game does not provide for more sensible policies, but let us clarify this:

The forests that are the subject of this proposal are primary forests. The timber industry can still harvest from secondary forests under strict logging licenses that are currently in place for primary forests too.

MessageInteresting interpretation, but as we see it, this proposal would prohibit all logging, while the current situation does in no way oblige the authorities in charge to grant licences for logging in primary forests. A licence can be refused for overriding environmental considerations.
