Bill: Immeressen Decress: For Democracy
Details
Submitted by[?]: Throne of Immeressen
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 2899
Description[?]:
A Head of State serves an important function as an ambassador. A Head of Government has an important job just keeping the machinery of government ticking over. We suggest separating these offices, once again, to allow greater flexibility for State duties, and to allow Government to focus on Government duties. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Structure of the executive branch.
Old value:: The Head of State is also Head of Government.
Current: The Head of State and Head of Government are two separate officials.
Proposed: The Head of State is hereditary and symbolic; the Head of Government chairs the cabinet.

Message | We could see ourselves supporting this, though who would become the head of state? |
Date | 23:06:02, February 24, 2010 CET | From | Throne of Immeressen | To | Debating the Immeressen Decress: For Democracy |
Message | Whoever won the 'Head of State' contest in the most recent election, when this passed, we assume. The Head of Government seat will then be determined in a Cabinet proposal - like all the other Government offices. |

Message | Thanks to the NKRPS for support. This kind of political play is open to re-interpretation later. We in the ToI have no problems with voting on such issues, again and again, until we get acceptable results. Hopefully, this Bill will create a state of play that everyone will be happy with. |

Random fact: In cases where players have failed to clearly and accurately reference their nation's RP laws in the "Bills under debate" section, Moderation will rule them invalid if a challenge is made to their validity. |
Random quote: "No one today can afford to be innocent, or indulge himself in ignorance of contemporary governments, politics and social orders. The national polities of the modern world maintain their existence by deliberately fostered craving and fear: monstrous protection rackets. The 'free world' has become economically dependent on a fantastic system of stimulation of greed which cannot be fulfilled, sexual desire which cannot be satiated and hatred which has no outlet except against oneself, the persons one is supposed to love, or the revolutionary aspirations of pitiful, poverty-stricken marginal societies like Cuba or Vietnam. The conditions of the Cold War have turned all modern societies - communist included - into vicious distorters of man's true potential." - Gary Snyder |
