Bill: ¡Viva la República!

Details

Submitted by[?]: Humanist Alliance

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2900

Description[?]:

We are convinced monarchist but when need arises and the nation is in peril, we must commit a sacrifice and proclaim the popular sovereignity. So, let's overthrow this unfair king who controls the goverment and who has betrayed the sacred oath he made and let's proclaim a republic until we'll find a better monarch in one of those heirs of deposed dinasties who exhibit themselves in the gossip section of the Endralion Daily!

Il n’est pas de sauveurs suprêmes :
Ni Dieu, ni César, ni tribun,
Producteurs, sauvons-nous nous-mêmes !
Décrétons le salut commun !
Pour que le voleur rende gorge,
Pour tirer l’esprit du cachot,
Soufflons nous-mêmes notre forge,
Battons le fer quand il est chaud !

Ni en dioses, reyes ni tribunos,
está el supremo salvador.
Nosotros mismos realicemos
el esfuerzo redentor.

Para hacer que el tirano caiga
y el mundo siervo liberar,
soplemos la potente fragua
que el hombre libre ha de forjar.

There are no supreme saviours
Neither God, nor Caesar, nor tribune.
Producers, let us save ourselves
Decree the common welfare
That the thief return his plunder,
That the spirit be pulled from its prison
Let us fan the forge ourselves
Strike the iron while it is hot

MessageReally? What sacred oath? The only blood that is honorable to take the throne at this moment is the House of Bandorra, but they have been extinct for over 400 years! And technically, I can't do anything in government because I don't have a cabinet position.

MessageLet us some time and we'll find some great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson of the Bandorras (What an ugly name for a dinasty, bu the way) Neverthless, Belgium, The Netherlands, Greece were new-born monarchies and found a king in a foreign country. The king of Norway died without issue and chose the Bonapartist and former republican Bernardotte as heir. Spain overthrew Queen Isabel II and crowned unrelated king Amadeo of Saboya (but later the crown went back to the House of Bourbon.

MessageJust a question...

I'd like to know if we have executive elections, for the Congress has changed but the Cabinet remains the same.

MessageThats how it works in a republic. And for future reference, you aren't allowed to use Earth-based politics in Particracy. If you want to use one, you have to put OOC: before you type.

MessageCome on! Everything is Eath-based., Even the Star Wars Empire was based on the transitions from the Roman Republic to the Empire, The I French Republic to the French Empire and so.

Next time, I'll propose some Vulcan logicracy,
