MessageWe can be persuaded, provided that there is a stipulation that (non-disaster) aid will only be given to countries where we can have confidence that the aid will be spent on actual needs (basic infrastructure, food, hospitals, basic education) and not on presidential palaces or military or just general corruption. We feel that this can be achieved by limiting our financial aid to countries with a recognised rule of law and low government corruption. There are various independent publications that perform the requisite research on these matters on an annual basis.

Random quote: "If democracy is ever to be threatened, it will not be by revolutionary groups burning government offices and occupying the broadcasting and newspaper offices of the world. It will come from disenchantment, cynicism and despair caused by the realization that the New World Order means we are all to be managed and not represented." - Tony Benn
