Bill: 1st Military Reform: Landmines

Details

Submitted by[?]: House of Avingnon-AVNG

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 2917

Description[?]:

The Land Mines Act seeks to put us on an equal military footing with other nations in wartime. Because of Keymon's small population we need every wartime advantage we can get. Emergency landmines on the Keymonian beaches will make an invading force think twice before setting foot on Maddog Island. The bill allows the use of landmines, but requires that the Armed Forces follow several guidelines:

a) Any landmines placed on domestic or foreign soil must be area mapped. These area maps will be sent both to High Command and to the Cabinet. At the conclusion of said conflict the area maps will be used to eliminate the threat on Keymonian soil and given to the former enemy to aid them in disposing of landmines on their soil.
b) Land mines used by the Keymonian Armed Forces will have degradable fuses, meaning that over a set period of time (to be determined by the Cabinet and Head of Government) the land mines will cease to operate even if not all can be located.

MessageWe, The Emblem Party, refuse. We are a peaceful, neutral nation. We should be working on ending cancer, not working on ending life. Those beaches could be beautiful tourist attraction in which mothers and father take their families to play, not view how destruction will be our downfall.

MessageWe must respectfully disagree with our friends the EP. We are indeed a neutral nation, but that must not stop us from defending our shores should invaders come.
