MessageStrange to see that the Socialist Alliance support this Act. Given they voted against my government taxation act which they said has "too high" tax rates yet they vote for my tax increases on profits etc.

Admittedly we have revised our opinions on Government spending which is to drastically reduce it.

MessageThe United Socialism Alliance agrees with the drastic reduction of government spending, the increase of the luxury tax and the implementation of the sales tax.

The United Socialism Alliance urges still that since other taxes has been risen, that the three lower brackets of tax income be reduced (to maybe around 12%, 24% and 42% respectefully.)

Regardless, the United Socialism Alliance supports this act.

MessageWe have always opposed taxing essential goods, since this will directly affect the poorest citizens of Ikradon.

Furthermore, we agree with the principle of cutting government spending where necessary, this budget goes too far in some areas. We fail to see how a balanced economy can be achieved if a) the LL insists on state ownership of all industry, b) our budget for food and agriculture is drastically slashed, and c) we pour vast resources into heavy industry. This sounds like the recipe for failure along the lines of the Soviet Union.

MessageThe sales tax would be good, but it will be better if the income taxes gets reduced in the lower brackets.

There wouldn't be any need for high taxes for the poor when A) the indirect taxes are increased and B) government spending has been decreased drastically.

MessagePerhaps both parties can dictate their economic policies whilst they are in power but until that day the NWP will not take any interest in their remarks. In this budget we have done what the FFP wanted all along which was to cut spending except now we have cut spending too much? Clearly the FFP cannot be satisfied and will always find something to moan about.

Whenever they are in power they can dictate their own budgets, but they tried to do that already and both were defeated so clearly the FFP knows absolutley nothing about the economic situation of this nation!

MessageOnce we have returned to a more liberal economic model, we would be glad to see this sort of budget passed. As it stands, under complete nationalization, this budget would be catastrophic. We cannot have a thriving agricultural market under these policies.

Clearly, the NWP forgets what the role of an opposition party is.

MessageClearly the FFP has no idea what it is talking about. The vast majority of our nationalised industries are self-sufficient and can support themselves which is what all businesses have to do regarless of privitised or nationalised. As this is a clear point of normal business practice the government does not need a huge financial input into these businesses!

Clearly, the FFP forgets what the role of the governing party is and the parties in power knows what is best which is why we were elected in the first place! Perhaps if the FFP wise up a bit, more people will vote for them and they can have a real say in what goes on in the Cabinet

MessageHow can our businesses be self-sufficient if we are taxing 85% of their income?

MessageThe tax isn't on income, it is on profits.

MessageThe wrong word, but the argument remains essentially unchanged--with a growing population and a desire to have our economy continue to develop, we must either liberalize our economy or commit ourselves to massive state investments in all areas of the economy to see that we are capable of growing at pace with demand.

MessageOur state operated businesses may be being taxed 85% of their PROFITS! The companies keep enough for themselves to operate and if the companies need any help then the government is prepared to put this tax back into these companies. The FFP, yet again showing why the LL is in power
