Message | If this bill passes, idiocy and selfishness will have thriumphed over common sense and solidarity. Developing regions need constant aid, lest all efforts are futile. If you only send food, clothes and tents for a few weeks while a disaster is in the media to an area which has been completely whiped off the map and not sending aid to rebuild the area and its infrastructure, you have not aided them at all. |

Message | "If they want to donate to charity, let them do it by themselves" The RSDP has nominated this statement for its annual "Most Stupid Comment" contest. As it is bollocks. Individual citizens cannot be expected to fund the development of an entire region, nor are they likely to donate anything except when a major disaster makes the news, and they'll generally only donate for the few days or weeks the disaster concerned is in the news. And before you once more start accusing us of not having any faith in our citizens, what I said here is but the result of observations and statistics. |

Message | Ok, so our citizens don't want to give their hard earned dough to third world countries unless there's a disaster - "what I said here is but the result of observations and statistics." If they don't want to, why should we make them?! The responsibility of the Rutanian government is to serve and protect the citizens of Rutania and their interests. The government's actions should reflect the will of every Rutanian individual, and in matters like this, the best way to do that is to LET THEM CHOSE THEMSELVES. Coercing money from Rutanians to give to other Rutanians is bad enough, but actually diverting the wealth of Rutania as a whole to other nations is damaging to the whole country. Even a socialist should realise that every Rutanian, hobo or robber baron, will suffer if Rutanian wealth, be it that of individuals or that of the state, is removed from the Rutanian economy. |

Message | This is better so we will vote in favour, but we'd rather the tied aid option. |

Message | "If they don't want to, why should we make them?!" We believe they do want to, but don't know to which projects they should donate or to which organisation because it gets too little coverage in the media. Therefore, the government must step in and provide aid. |
