Bill: Head of State, Head of Government Act 2926

Details

Submitted by[?]: Freedom Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 2927

Description[?]:

This is a Resolution which is intended to show a willingness by Parliament to purse the creation of a separate Head of State entity (title to be decided) and a separate Head of Government entity (called the Prime Minister). As such it is the first step toward that process.

A simple majority of Parliament is required for Resolution to be carried. Any direct constitutional amendment which later creates and installs a Head of State shall still require 2/3rds majority of Parliament.

MessageAs we have stated we are in support of this arrangement. Especially that founding a new system and constitutional politics are exterior to the domain of normal politics and are in need of broad consensus. Our proposal to the HoS title are the following: President, Federal President, Governor. We would be completely happy with all the three, or if there are other suggestions we would listen them happily.

MessageAs we stated in the other discussion, we support the title of "Federal President".

"Governor" is too much of a regional term in most countries and could cause confusion.
