Current: All adults upon completion of schooling must serve either a term in the military or a lesser paid term of civilian national service, at their option.
Proposed: There shall be no mandatory military or civilian national service.

| Message | Prime Minister Mervyn Bijai, Mr Speaker, this Act will weaken our nation by an undeterminable amount. Without National Service our army will miss out on recruits to do non-frontline work and this in turn allows our specialist soldiers to fight on front-lines. Given all the mililtary reforms by the CLP and Labour Party it would seem as though they dont value the defense of our nation! |
