Message | Having been educated in a religious school (both at primary and secondary level) I feel they are detrimental to society. They breed an "us and them" attitude early on, especially in areas where there is almost a split in society (e.g. west coast of Scotland has a large Catholic minority in a Protestant area and the area is rife with sectarian problems) |
Date | 18:05:45, November 07, 2005 CET | From | United Blobs | To | Debating the Schools Act (2137) |
Message | So why the clause against charter schools? We feel that parents have the right to send their children to religious schools. The state remains seperated from religion as these schools must be privately funded. We also disagree with the idea that the prescence of religious schools splits society and see no evidence of it occuring in Hobrazia. |

Message | And where would you see such evidence for it in Hobrazia? |

Message | We can't at present so it can't be used as a point either way. |
Date | 19:49:26, November 07, 2005 CET | From | Deltarian Nationalist Party | To | Debating the Schools Act (2137) |
Message | If all schools are state run then there would be more unity between children of different religious and ethnic origins, it will never be perfect but I feel it is the best thing for integration. |
Date | 05:39:31, November 08, 2005 CET | From | Liberal-Progressive Union | To | Debating the Schools Act (2137) |
Message | Why ban these? If parents decide they want their child to have a certain education, that are regulated by the state to ensure quality, why tell them they are not allowed? Mo on both. |
Date | 14:31:43, November 08, 2005 CET | From | Deltarian Nationalist Party | To | Debating the Schools Act (2137) |
Message | Because the state should intervene in trying to make sure we have an integrated society rather than having children seperated on religious grounds at a young age. |
