Giving tied aid does not help the poorer nations but brings us a profit, this is morally wrong. If we wont go as far as giving moderate aid then helping in extreme circumstances would be best. |

Message | Aid should not result in anything favourable for the donator, that is what investment is not aid and we are not even investing in these nations. We are giving them money to do what they like with as long as we leave with profitable trading rights. I'm not trying to sound like a communist here but this is capitalism at it's worst, the exploitation of the poor, the needy and the opressed. |

Message | Capitalism at its worst... Maybe I'm cynical, but I can't see anything wrong on it. When you provide political and economical aid to a nation in return of some trading favor, where's the problem? Both countries benefit. We don't exploit them. We don't give them money to do what they like. We help them getting out from an oppressing political situation, so that, not the only consequence, they will be more responsible on how to exploit the aid given by wealthier and more politically stable nations, in favor of their people. And your bill would even delete any chance of dealing with these problems, as you exclude any aid apart from disaster reliefs. Again, isn't still their freedom to spend the aid you send as they like? |

Message | And cynically speaking, we can see how moderate/high/whatever aid helps neither the rich country (wasting useful money) nor the poor country (wasting useful money for State own businesses). Tied aid economically benefits the rich country and may politically help the poor country or, in the worst chance, give no help at all, but still someone gets some advantage. |

Message | The current law is a good balance, I'm against giving away aid that we may need, but also against becoming known as a isolationist state in Terra. |

Message | I still don't see why giving aid for favourable returns helps the poorer nations. |

Message | TPoH: Giving aid with no criteria leads to nothing. Giving aimed, specific aid helps. |

Message | Helps who? They would gain more money selling their goods at a fair price. |
