Bill: Grand Cabinet Proposal of November 2946

Details

Submitted by[?]: Socialist Party of Kalistan (SPoK)

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 2947

Description[?]:

This proposal, I think is fair, ensuring that tradition be observed, and a minimal winning coalition is constructed, including 5 of 7 Parties.

MessageOkay, so, wait...
I am the largest party... So I get no spots.
I can understand that for traditions sake... However I have been around longer then both the NDP and the KZD.
So, I don't understand your mindset at all.

MessageEveb though this cabinet is perfect for my party, I think that this is unfiair for the Emblem Party and I also believe that the Kalistański Związek Demokracyjny is too small for a ministry so I oppose.

MessageUmm, you haven't been around longer than I. True, I just recently came back to Kalistan, but I know how this nation runs, and it cannot do so with parties like the Emblem Party and the NDP, who take the route of degrading and underestimating all opposition, instead of working with them.

Perhaps this may not seem fair to you, but it is a reflection of those who actually work together in this country.

MessageEmblem Party, I don't particularly care which Parties who are not of the traditional leftist bloc are in the Cabinet. I will support whatever cabinet arrangement meets three criteria:

1) SPoK is guaranteed Foreign Affairs, trade and industry, and health and SS, in that order, depending on how many seats we are awarded, but without at least FA, we vote to oppose.

2) Our allies in the RFP are guaranteed at least Ministry of Finance

3) The cabinet is designed so that whoever has the Presidency doesn't have the head of government.

Whatever else arrangements you all can agree on is fine with me. If the left is in the majority (which we aren't apparently) we have the majority of the seats, but SPoK never wants more than three seats. SPoK certainly didn't intend to snub any Party, but working with all you all's Parties is tough to please everyone, and the NDP has a closer voting affinity to the SPoK.

Random fact: Did you know you can change the official name of your nation? All you need to do is draw up a new name that is in accordance with the Nation Renaming Guide, pass a bill proposing the name change with a two-thirds majority and then post a request to Moderation on the "Renaming Requests" thread. You can change city and region names in this way too.
