Message | Currently, 13 year olds are considered adults and are allowed to buy alcohol. Let's bump the age up a little. The move from 60 to 70 for retirement age seems pretty common sense to me. |

Message | "A little" ? Raising it by 5 years, to 18 isn't little. Thats too high. Actually, our party is supportive of 13 being our age of adulthood, afterall, its the time in which one becomes a teenager etc. Plus, we do not support 70 being the retirement age either, although would probably vote in favour of 65. |

Message | Here are some things that "adults" can do under our existing laws: Serve in the military Purchase alcoholic beverages Purchase tobacco Work Purchase fireworks View pornography Leave school (education is only compulsory for "children") Marry Participate in sexual activity with other consenting "adults" Collect welfare 13 year olds are not fully developed physically, mentally, socially, or emotionally. Allowing them to do many of these things as "adults" is irresponsible. And 5 years is only about 6% of the average lifespan, so that is "a little." |

Message | Although most are true, may I add that 18 is the age in which Voronans have to attend compulsory education till. Therefore they would be unable to serve in the military, work, or leave school at that age. After reconsidering, we would support raising the age of adulthood to 15 or 16 but that is all. And we would not budge on the retirement age, the maximum our party would support is 65. |

Message | While they may be required to attend school until age 18, that does not prohibit them from working or serving in the military. The military, for instance, could offer compulsory schooling to young recruits. |

Message | We still oppose your proposed ages. Workers for example wont want to work until their 70, and youths will oppose the age of 18 being the age of adulthood even more. |

Message | If the bill fails, I would be willing to compromise at 16 and 65. |
Date | 07:52:19, June 11, 2010 CET | From | Alliance/Workers Party | To | Debating the Adulthood and Retirement Bill |
Message | We believe that 13-plus is the age that one is mature enough to make decisions 4 themselves, sexually, mentally, physically, emotionally. (remember, one still cannot leave school until age 16, i think it is under our legislation). |

Message | BTW many ppl die b4 they turn 70, we should honour all those who reach 60 by rewarding them 4 hard work w/ pensions. |
