Bill: Civil Office Term Length Act of 2964
Details
Submitted by[?]: Bismarckian National Resistance (BNR)
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2965
Description[?]:
The length of the terms for civil offices should be decreased so as not to breed corruption and cronyism. Article 1: The length of the terms for all civil offices shall equal 4 years, or 48 months. Article 2: No person shall serve more than three consecutive 4-year terms in any civil office. After a period of 10 years has passed since holding their last third consecutive 4-year term, said person may be eligible to hold that office again. (OOC: You can choose whether or not to abide by this IC, although the BNR plans to.) Article 3: No person may hold more than one civil office at any time. The only exception is that a person may hold two civil offices at one time if one of the offices is being held in an interim, or "acting", basis only. |

Random fact: Particracy does not allow real-life brand names (eg. Coca Cola, McDonalds, Microsoft). However, in the case of military equipment brand names it is permitted to use simple number-letter combinations (eg. T-90 and F-22) borrowed from real life, and also simple generic names, like those of animals (eg. Leopard and Jaguar). |
