Bill: TV and Radio -2138-

Details

Submitted by[?]: Capitalizt Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 2139

Description[?]:

Privatize the Nationally owned TVs and Radios to give more competition to the private sector.

TV is classified as a popular medium, as Radio is. It is 'people's ownership' in a certain sense and, if they don't want low-cultured trash, the market will adapt to this.

No need of State intervention for any issue. Competition will be the absolute reason for which companies try to offer the best service to their customers. State may intervene only and only if the value of competition goes down by attempts of companies to create monopolies.

MessageBy removing the state from the broadcasting world you are reducing competition and denying citizens another viewpoint.

"if they don't want low-cultured trash, the market will adapt to this." - And if the 50%+1 do then sensible thinking people are screwed.

Random fact: Real-life quotations may be used in Particracy, but the real-life speaker or author should always be referenced in an OOC (out-of-character) note alongside the quotation.

Random quote: “The people's war isn't just a war of destruction, it is also a war of construction. We will build new facilities, new hospitals, new farms. We will seek to improve the lives of the people around us. This struggle will be as costly as the struggle against the bourgeois army, and indeed will be even more damaging to the enemy.” - Comrade X, former Hulstrian politician
