Bill: Cobura WMD Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Workers' Communist Party of Cobura

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 2139

Description[?]:

In order to ensure that Cobura will be able to deter enemies from attacking our great nation, we propose legalizing the right to develop, construct and store biological and chemical weapons, not to use of course, but rather to give the nations enemies pause and make them think twice before invading our country... Or we will destroy theirs.

MessageAbsolutely not. We violently and viciously oppose anything to do with WMD's and Chemical weapons. These arnt used on armies! Using such an arguement is crazy! WMDs radius is MUCH to large to use on soldiers and soldiers only! And the poison gasses will be carried with wind and kill everyone whos in the wrong place at the wrong time. Although we know our opposition is in vain, as always, we SERIOUSLY urge you NOT make these weapons!

Having such a bill and arguement is about as good as 'The electric chair stops people from killing people!' then screwing up the police force so criminals dont get caught and roam Cobura in search of new victims!

MessageWMD are a means to an end, not an end to an end.

Besides WMD are used as last resorts, not as first resorts. The BGP worries too much about International Opinion and not enough about the welfare of the nation at large.

MessageNot really since occupations in the modern era cost hundreds of billions of dollars per MONTH of the occupation, plus the whole "rebel forces" within the occupied area killing our nations soldiers cost the government the people's trust (and elections) if the Occupation of said country doesn't go well.

It's much easier and cheaper to blow an enemy to kingdomcome than to keep them under lock & key.

MessageThis wasnt your arguement! Your arguement was the use of WMD's on invading armies, i.e, soldiers on our turf!

Unless the above arguement was in defence of blowing our own turf to kingdomcome?

Random fact: Players have a responsibility to differentiate between OOC (out-of-character) and IC (in-character) behaviour, and to make clear when they are communicating in OOC or IC terms. Since Particracy is a role-playing game, IC excesses are generally fine, but OOC attacks are not. However, players must not presume this convention permits them to harass a player with IC remarks that have a clear OOC context.
