Message | Mr Speaker, we welcome this removal of interference in the international arena. |
Date | 00:52:25, July 21, 2010 CET | From | Labour Party | To | Debating the Disaster Relief Act |
Message | Mr Speaker, we are utterly ashamed by this bill. We are a prosperous nation, and can support nations that are not. We are not a nationalist party, because we believe all human-kind is equal, we believe in a terra without borders. This bill is vile. |

Message | Rt Hon Baron Mancini MP, NSC Leader, Mr Speaker, will Labour continue this coalition with the CLP after this so called 'vile' Bill. This is another instance of Labour and the CLP falling out over a critical issue within Hutori. The NSC thinks this coalition cannot last while there is such distrust between the two governing parties. How can two parties with very little in common govern a nation when there is such obvious tension between them. |

Message | Mr Speaker, the NSC continue their pointless suggestions of splits! Not so long ago they were saying that the CLP dominate all coalitions, now they are saying we can't stand each other. Which is it? Mr Speaker, I shall respond to what my colleague has said, seeing as the gentleman opposite has decided to be flippant in his remarks. Mr Speaker, we are not a prosperous nation, by any stretch of the imagination. We are a country that has enormous burdens through nationalisation of industry and high government spending. There is very little money left in the pot. Mr Speaker, if we continue to send so much money to foreign countries, we will be in need of aid ourselves. That is the reality of what the socialist parties are doing. Mr Speaker, this bill would have been vile had it cut off all international aid altogether. But the CLP recognise international obligations. In times of strife, we should help out our friends overseas, something which we know the NSC would scrap altogeter. Mr Speaker, aid does not truly help third world countries. We need to open up trade with them. The surest way to make poverty worse would be to pass the NSC's protectionist measures. |
