Message | Yet again we will not vote for a piece of legislation that would create yet another restriction and even more bureaucracy, unless the NACP can find a secular, scientifically backed reason to justify its existance. |
Date | 15:27:20, November 10, 2005 CET | From | Aldurian Libertarian Socialist Party | To | Debating the Pornography Broadcast Restriction Act |
Message | We agree with the MSP. Even if a 'secular' reason would exist, we would not automatically approve. There is 'secular' and rational pretext (stability and security) to limit freedom of speech, freedom of assembly and freedom of press. We do not subscribe to these 'secular' reasons because we beleive that liberty is more valuable. |

Message | Our argument is simply that, while the viewer should have the ability to choose the content that they view, it should be possible for a family to channel-surf without having nudity, pardoning the pun, thrust into its lap. Note: Our interpretation of this bill is that as long as a nude 'private' area is fuzzed out or only implied to be uncovered, it is allowable. Simply put, this bars blatant nudity and sexually explicit content, not mild material. |
