Description[?]:
Hey guys, I played this game ages back and thought I'd give it another go. Should be fun. The bills under debate list is looking pretty cluttered to me. I propose we clear the following bills (as suggested by KPJP) out: Head of State (Definitions) Act http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=206479 REFERENCE: Republic of Kirlawa Constitution (just something which had been put together unilaterally by a long-defunct, short-term party) http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=228462 Economic Alliance With Lodamun http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=238101 National Debate Rules (another long-defunct, very-short-term party's attempt to make Kirlawa _too_ formal) http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=240032 a call for early elections, obviously no longer needed http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=259900 National Science Investment Plan (a previous budget proposal, long superseded)http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=271834 Cabinet Proposal of August 2856 http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=272461 Ammendment to Renationalization Act (empty bill) http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=273623 New Supreme Court Appointment http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=275932 Supreme Court Appointment UPDATE http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=276050 Devolution of Healthcare Act 2902 http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=282457 Alternative Energy Incentive Act (another previous budget proposal, superseded) http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=282579 Public Works Insuring Kirlawa's Future Act (another previous budget proposal, superseded) http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=282582 Public School Enhancement Act (another previous budget proposal, superseded) http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=282584 Private Energy Bill http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=284756 Cabinet Proposal of August 2912 http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=285111 Democratic Republic Amendment http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=285152 Repeal of the Manifesto Military Bill (it has already been repealed) http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=286714 another call for early elections http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=292993 Bill 164 http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=295787 |

Message | OOC: Please don't delete our previous cultural censuses! :( It is interesting to see how Kirlawa has developed over time, much more so than just the current snapshot. From your party's name and description, I gather that you would probably much prefer a less serious nation than our Kirlawa, which has always been one of Terra's more serious nations, a tradition which I certainly want to keep. Quite a number of Terra's other 58 nations would fit, and furthermore most of them have a much shorter list of pending bills than Kirlawa does. You would likely be happier in one of them? (please, instead of coming to Kirlawa and on your very first day telling us, who have been here for a very long time, that the vast majority of our bills that have been here for years should be deleted in your opinion?) :( I was also looking at the list of bills a month or two ago, and agree that it could be neatened up somewhat ... but the list of bills which I would suggest for deletion is much, much smaller than the above. |

Message | As for which ones those are ... Message | OOC: I didn't mean to step on your toes. I hear that you don't want this country being too silly. Note that I've changed the bill to just the ones you suggested. However, I do have a response to this comment from you: "please, instead of coming to Kirlawa and on your very first day telling us, who have been here for a very long time, that the vast majority of our bills that have been here for years should be deleted in your opinion?" In my mind, the whole purpose of minor parties is to shake things up and affect changes. This is a political simulation, and for it to be truly political you need an opposition party that questions why things are the way they are. If you believe that the status quo should be maintained, you need to politically outmanoeuvre your opponent, and prevent the changes they are proposing. That being said, games should be fun. I think I'll stay for a little longer and play my conspiracy theory party. If you really aren't having fun with them around, I'll move them on. I like this game, and don't want to ruin it for someone just because we have different tastes in gameplay. BTW, I like what you guys did with New Englia. That was an interesting to catch up on. |

Message | OOC: Thank you, and welcome to Kirlawa! :) I see what you're saying, and it makes sense. And if we can keep this greater distance between OOC and IC -- that you're just playing a conspiracy-theory-oriented party ICly, and are not OOCly implying that this is the case for Terra -- I feel that everything will be OK. More than a few political parties in various countries around OOC Earth hold and promote some pretty unique beliefs, so it's not unrealistic. And thank you for revising the list of bills to delete :) I'm happy that we can work together on this. |

Message | ... and especially, thank you for giving me and UPK this advance notice, so that we could discuss it and reach this mutually agreeable solution. |
