Bill: Restructuring of the Government in Accordance with the Treaties of Poesy Act of 2985

Details

Submitted by[?]: Bismarckian National Resistance (BNR)

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 2986

Description[?]:

All changes to the structure of our nation's government proposed herein are in accordance with both Treaties of Poesy.

Article 1: After the passing of this bill, as allowed under Article 1 of the Second Treaty of Poesy, the official name of the Commonwealth of Yishelem and Beiteynu shall be the Commonwealth of Beiteynu and Yishelem. As always, legally, Yishelem shall refer to the State of Endild, and Beiteynu shall refer to the States of Fruskila, Padrilka, Tadraki, and Quo'gün. Yishelem is not to be confused with Yishalem, Endild, which is the capital city of the nation.

Article 2: The official national anthem of the Commonwealth of Beiteynu and Yishelem shall be the traditional, "For the Homeland", with some modifications.

Article 3: The official motto of the Commonwealth of Beiteynu and Yishelem shall be, in English (for example), "Liberty, Equality, and Prosperity".

Article 4: The official national sport of the Commonwealth of Beiteynu and Yishelem shall be extreme dreidel.

Article 5: In accordance with Article 5 of the Second Treaty of Poesy, the rightful Emperor of Luthori shall be King of Beiteynu and Yishelem and the de jure head of state of Beiteynu and Yishelem. The King shall be represented in the Holy Commonwealth of Beiteynu and Yishelem by a government official officially known as the "Governor-General and Executor of Head of State of the Commonwealth of Beiteynu and Yishelem, Official Representative of His Royal Majesty (HRM) King Gustavus II of Beiteynu and Yishelem, Emperor of Luthori and Alduria and I of Mordusia, etc. [or whichever sovereign is currently ruling], the Honourable". The governor-general shall act as head of state for King Gustavus except in whatever matters in which the King deems to be of importance enough that he shall execute his powers as de jure Head of State of the Commonwealth of Beiteynu and Yishelem. The head of government of the Commonwealth of Beiteynu and Yishelem, whose title may be changed, will be "Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Beiteynu and Yishelem and President of the Knesset of the Commonwealth of Beiteynu and Yishelem, the Honourable". The governor-general and prime minister shall both be elected by the citizens of the Commonwealth of Beiteynu and Yishelem, although the King may dismiss these election results and appoint someone to these positions if it is clear one or both of the people elected to the positions advocate, teach, encourage, have attempted, and/or can reasonably be expected to attempt the overthrow of the King as head of state.

Article 6: The national legislature of the Commonwealth of Beiteynu and Yishelem shall be made up of two houses: the Great Sanhedrin of the Commonwealth of Beiteynu and Yishelem, which is the upper house, and the Knesset of the Commonwealth of Beiteynu and Yishelem, which is the lower house. The Great Sanhedrin shall consist of 71 members who shall represent the nation as a whole. Members of the Great Sanhedrin shall be appointed by the Governor-General and confirmed by the Knesset and outgoing Great Sanhedrin by a two-thirds majority. The Knesset shall consist of 500 members - 100 members for each state - and they shall represent their assigned district. Members of the Knesset shall be elected directly by the People from their district. The Head of Government of the Commonwealth of Beiteynu and Yishelem, the Prime Minister, shall also serve as the President of the Knesset of the Commonwealth of Beiteynu and Yishelem, and shall only have a vote in instances of a tie. All together, the total number of seats in the Legislature of the Commonwealth of Beiteynu and Yishelem shall be 571 seats. (OOC: Since game mechanics doesn't allow it, the Great Sanhedrin and Knesset shall just remain elected by the people and unicameral and this is just RP.)

Random fact: Players consent to the reasonable and predictable consequences of the role-play they consent to. For example, players who role-play their characters as committing criminal offences should expect those characters to experience the predictable judicial consequences of that.
