Bill: Early Senate Dissolution 2985

Details

Submitted by[?]: Social Renewal Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill requests an early election. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline. Elections will be held immediately if the bill passes.

Voting deadline: June 2986

Description[?]:

We, the Left Radical Party, call for early elections as soon as we can reach a consensus.

The current Senate is attempting to work its way through a tremendous amount of constitutional and legislative reform only to be frustrated by the endless abstention of the senators from the Nuncpart Total Control Authority.

Important and far-reaching reforms are being passed or stymied with support from less than 50 senators.

We would not usually propose such an extraordinary measure but we believe it is imperative for the future of Solentia that the issues before the Senate be resolved as soon as possible to ensure the nation's stability.

MessageWe have some reservations. Whilst we can accept the Left viewpoint, we too think that there is important legislation going through the senate at the moment, such as repealing gay marriage and giving parents choice with vacines.

MessageDoes the left party not still think the NCTA party will still be inactive after an election and pose the same issues?

MessageWe believe that the policies we are over seeing are too important to let go. They must be allowed a chance to succeed in this term of office. We oppose.

MessageThose pieces of legislation you're so adamant to see passed are receiving less than 50 votes in the Senate.

We accept that sometimes absentions are strategic, we've even employed this tactic ourselves in the past, but the NCTA's repeated intransigence is depriving the current Senate's legislative achievements of legitimacy.

We seek to let the voter judge the NCTA's record and to ensure that constitutional reforms are scrutinised by an active and judicious Senate.

Message"It is usual CMP policy not to support Early Elections unless seats are unrepresented. We maintain that as long as seats are filled, the Senate does not hold the right to dissolve the public mandate prematurely."

MessageOOC: We were informed that the player was away for several days, it was respectful of them to inform us and I think it would be a slight diservice to the player to punish them ICly despite their polite appologies.
