Bill: Alternate Constitutional Reform

Details

Submitted by[?]: Liberal Patriots' League

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 2140

Description[?]:

Whoever wins the Presidency obviously represents a combination of popularity and moderation.

Governance should be both strong and moderate and hence this reform is a good way to prevent governance by a patchwork of disagreable radicals as the EPK proposes.

MessageWhy don't you just ban on other political parties, so that nothing can impede your authority? Oh, that's right, BECAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE A MAJORITY. Coalitions can formulate policy together or separately. All they have to agree is to allow parliaments to run their full term. What went wrong with the LCP is when they presumed that, because they won less than a third of the primary vote, they had the right to also presume that other parties would be grateful for any little piece of power it threw their way. Once again, the LCP is just plain wrong on this issue.

MessageNo thats the parties you are jumping in bed with that tried to ban other political parties. You were more than happy when we gave you a third of executive power, and the offer still stands.

MessageWho, pray tell, tried to ban other political parties? Even during the tyranny of the Patriotic Union, no such move was made by any party.
