Bill: Family Farms Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Democratic Centre Party of Gaduridos
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 2047
Description[?]:
We all respect the hard-working men and women in the agricultural sector. Unfortunately, for too long our government has disrespected them, by denying them the opportunity to profit from their hard work. We hearby propose the selling off of state-owned farms at fair market prices to willing buyers, along with a policy of subsidies for low-income farmers who could not otherwise afford to own the land they work. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Government agricultural and farming subsidies policy.
Old value:: All agricultural operations are state-owned and operated.
Current: The government subsidises agriculture based on market demand for the crop being grown.
Proposed: The government subsidises the operations of low-income farming families.

Message | I welcome your comments on this bill, but will not send it to vote until after the next elections. This is to be the key plank of the DCP's agricultural platform in the next election. |

Message | I would back this or a bill stipulating that the government will subsidize crops according to market demand. The ruling party the BTP, is the one that passed the centralization of agriculture. |

Message | Question: Where exactly does the current legislation say that farmers are not given adequate compensation for their hard work? If that's what you're worried about, just propose higher wages for farmers. |
Date | 23:07:24, May 03, 2005 CET | From | People's Progressive Party | To | Debating the Family Farms Act |
Message | The bill clearly disagrees with the deranged notion of having completely centralized agriculture. I support this bill. |
