MessageWhile the government should provide facilities for people to engage in healthy exercise, there is no need for the government to fund sports clubs. These governemt subsidies couls create an uneven playing filed in sports competitions as well as wasting taxpayers money that could be better spent.

MessageThese sports clubs are good for health and reduce the amount that must be spent on healthcare. Reducing the demand for healthcare has another effect - by reducing the load on healthcare systems, costs on the taxpayers go down for national hospitals and the price of private care goes down as well. In the first case this means taxes can safely be lower. In the second it means that society is more equal. Either way it improves the economy.

MessageWe believe that the government should continue to male available facilities such as gyms, football pitches and swimming pools that all people can use for exercise or amateur sport, we just don't think governments should peovide some sports clubs with funding, while leaving others to their own devices.
