Bill: De Facto Simplyfied Anthem Bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: Heck the Neck Movement

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2141

Description[?]:

Let's get rid of that "de facto" on the second line in our anthem once and forever! It doesn't rhyme, and it's so embarrassing when our kids ask us what it means and we can't explain. We want no latin in our anthem!*.

*unless it's J-Lo, of course.

MessageWe suggest you tell the kids that the first line is in fact the title of the song. Your party could further explain that “de facto“ means "in practice". That surely would clear up any confusion for the young ones and avoid the rigmarole of altering the anthem.

Welcome, by the way. : )

MessageWe agree with HtNM. That 'de facto' has been annoying us ever since the anthem was created.

Random fact: When it comes to creating a Cultural Protocol in a Culturally Open nation, players are not necessarily required to provide a plausible backstory for how the nation's cultural background developed. However, the provision of a plausible backstory may be a factor in whether Moderation approves the Cultural Protocol if players in surrounding nations question its appropriateness for their region of the game map.
