Messagethese are the most uninformed comments I have ever heard.

Prosititution is equal to slavery?!?! You are comparing a person who is sold to another with no choice and forced to commit backbreaking labor, to someone who legally and willingly decides what they will do with their own body????

A young poor female (or male) for that matter, is not FORCED to become a prostitute... What on earth would make you say that???

As to it being "immoral" that is an opinion, and not for you to decide for other consenting individuals.
As for it being dangerous, make it illegal, and see how dangerous it REALLY gets.

As with anything, when you make it illegal, it doesnt go away. It goes to the black market, where it becomes much worse.

Currently prostitution is regulated. Make it illegal, and all regulations go away. Disease rates will skyrocket and women will REALLY be slaves.

Its not hard to document. Look at nations where its legal and where its illegal. Legal nations have safe and regulated industry. Illegal nations have an underground of desperation and abuse.

MessageProstitution isn't the same as slavery, if it were then we could say the same about models and strippers.

OOC: Legal prostitution does work, most of Australia has legal prostitution. Only requirments are that they can only operate in registered brothels. Interesting fact: one of our brothels managed to get onto the stock market.

MessageLIP said it perfectly, In slavery you have no choice to be sold or or not... in Prostitution... you have no choice because economic fault forces... we must either ban this act of cruelty or face the dangers of having it around.

MessageThat is operating on a moral fallacy.
Under that idea EVERY woman who is poor would be a prostitute. Of course this is not true.
This is one of the weakest arguments I have ever heard.

The dangers are of banning it.

Messageand what of women who are "high class" meaning they have very expensive rates?
After as little as a year, many of these women have made hundreds of thousands of dollars.
But they keep doing it..... Is it because they are slaves, as you claim, or because they are individuals making a choice?

A choice that you deem inappropriate. Under the guise of "morals" or being "for their own good"

MessageThere's no way you can control prostitution...that's why it's a good idea if the government can control it. If it's illegal, it would be worse then ever. We would have illegal prostitutes out on the streets encouraging drug dealers and the likes. However, if we maintained our firm grip on it we would be able to control the places where brothels may be set up and monitor them carefully. We can't monitor something that hides from us.
That's why some governments in the world legalize prostitution, it becomes worse without the laws.

Random fact: Players who consent to a particular role-play by acknowledging it in their own role-play cannot then disown it or withdraw their consent from it. For example, if player A role-plays the assassination of player B's character, and player B then acknowledges the assassination in a news post, but then backtracks and insists the assassination did not happen, then he will be required under the rules to accept the validity of the assassination role-play.
