Bill: Prayer in State Schools
Details
Submitted by[?]: Zapatista Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 2141
Description[?]:
We would like to see the forcing of school prayers in public, state schools forbidden. At the moment it would seem our old value encourages religion in schools. Those who grow up in, say, a religious family might go chose to send their child to a state school not knowing that their children are being made to pray to a different god and different religion. This should reassure families that no matter what school they send their child, they will not be made to pray for a god they dont beleive in. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The government's policy with respect to prayer in schools.
Old value:: The government leaves this decision up to the schools themselves.
Current: The government leaves this decision up to the schools themselves.
Proposed: Teacher-led prayers in schools are forbidden, except in religious schools.
