Bill: Administration of Monarchy

Details

Submitted by[?]: Nemangha Humananghô

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 3048

Description[?]:

BE IT DECREED:

The state that encompasses the political entity of the people of Aldegar shall henceforth be called the "Third Nation of Aldegar."

Henceforth, modifications shall be made in the upper echelons of administrative leadership in this nation for the sake of amendments to the existing Second Republic. To best enforce the balance of reason and justice in our future state, we propose the institution of a monarchy to act as an obstacle to radical change that may be detrimental to the people of this nation, whether it be from rightist or leftist forces.

Secondly, it is maintained that political power is derived from the nation of Aldegar, and not the divine right of the monarch to preside over the people. In essence, a constitutional monarchy or enlightened despotism is to be formed.

OOC: To spice up roleplay, give a cultural edge and flavour.

MessageOOC: Yeah, generally this is like the Third Republic proposal to have an RP restart and be able to refer to each other in monarchist lingo at the same time.

MessageThe PP has always been a republican party and will remain one. Apart from the introduction of a monarchy, this bill also includes a number of other provisions which undermine democracy and civic rights. We will therefore oppose.

OOC: I can't see how the elimination of the Head of State elections would make things more interesting.

MessageThe People's Party for a New Republic appreciates the irony that this bill effectively declared a republican poltician to be the 'monarch' of the unsurping entity, against her will and without her cooperation.

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, special care must be taken to ensure realism is maintained when role-playing a government controlled by an ethnic and/or religious minority. If it is to be supposed that this government is supported by a majority of the population, then this should be plausibly and sufficiently role-played. The burden of proof is on the player or players role-playing such a regime to demonstrate that it is being done realistically
