Voting deadline: December 2141
Description[?]:
The Grand Council notes the recent retirement from politics of the former First Minister of Aldegar, Mrs Ivana Dvorakova. She was first elected to the Grand Council in October 2105 and served the public for 35 years. We propose to honour Mrs Dvorakova by granting her a lifetime service award to be named the GPA or "Guardian of the People of Aldegar". We think it would be appropriate for retiring statesmen and stateswomen, of all parties, to be honoured in this way in future as they approach their twilight years. Message | Much as he dislikes the socialist lunacy of the Novy Smer Party, His Grace is not mean-spirited and is happy to go along with honouring a long-standing stateswoman. However, he wishes to make it very clear that he believes the Grand Council should be similarly appreciative of all the efforts he and his family have made to the economic, political and social development of Aldegar, and he would like the Grand Council to express its gratitude to him in 3 ways: 1. Declare Aldegar a Grand Duchy, with His Grace as the figurehead. 2. Award His Grace the 'Greatest Living Aldegarian Award'. 3. Build a lovely new city in Hikirena and call it 'Shaftesbury', after his noble name. Percy Waterman (Personal Secretary to the Grand Duke of Hikirena and President of Aldegar) |

Message | FBSP believes that state honours should be abolished, being too much open to abuse and potential corruption, and also because of the danger that they will be awarded to DD. |

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play". |
