Message | Bill of Rights? I'm very suspicious. I'd rather see a Bill of Obligations. |

Message | I'm as suspicious of the Deltarian Bill of Rights as I am of the UCP's Bill of Obligations. Both go against the International Bill of Human RIghts. I will vote no. |

Message | If you haven't, it's a blank page. In other words, humans have no rights. |

Message | I interpreted the fact that they mention that the bill of rights is "left blank intentionally" was an indication that they didn't want to get bogged down with problems with human rights if they wish to do something, and thus wish the "bill of rights" to be left open to change, as their needs dictate. ie, one day they might want to incorporate slavery, so while before that their BoR might include the right to freedom, they have the ability to remove that right retroactively. Sort of like the Bush administration's policy on torture. Or the Howard government's policy on truth and election promises. |

Message | My interpretation was that in a truly free country subjects can do anything that isn't specifically against the law: unlike countries with bills of rights. |

Message | I'll go for a Bill of Obligations. No rights without obligations. That makes sense. |
