MessageAn unprising of economic growth and prosperity? This will pass because there are enough people in this legislature that have taken first year economics courses and/or have decent logic and reasoning skills.

MessageHeard of the Poll Tax Riots? Remember how Thatcher was ousted from power due to the Poll Tax and the mass opposition to her economic policies and attacks on the working class?

Yeah. Poll Tax is highly popular and successful throughout the world, and has proved to create strong and unified economies.

You constantly take us for idiots for not voting for your economic policies, but real-life research has shown, mixed with a dash of morality, that they do not work, and are highly oppressive to the less fortunate in society.

It's the ingredients for revolution.

MessageThe Poll tax was anti-federalism and is not economically relevant. In terms of riots, go ahead. Everyone smart enough to realize that this system works will stay home from rioting and get a newly created job.

I am not debating poll taxes, i am debating the flat tax, which has been shown to increase economic growth all over the world. Why is it that hong kong (flat tax) is growing at a faster rate than other asian nations of the same economic base (without flat taxes)? Why is it that russia was able to cut taxes will keeping spending the same after introducing the flat tax?

Real life research shows how great the flat tax is. Look it up. Whining in ways such as "oh, it gives the rich money" displays your ignorance to economic realities. This is a very moral tax - everyone pays the same rate. Isnt equal treatment what you guys are all about?

MessageThis is nothing like "equal treatment" and displays your complete ignorance in the subject of basic morality. Do you have any idea how it works and how it affects people? Do you know how the poor are completely raped because of taxes like this?

No, you don't, because all you are ultimately concerned about is capitalist economic growth for the rich, and as for the poor? F*ck them! "They don't deserve to be treated like human beings, and they should be exploited for every last penny they have and all the possible labour they can give the ruling classes. We shall force them to work long hours, and pay them minimum wages, while we can sit back and watch them work for us.

"Oh thank you government for cutting our tax, so we can get more money at the expense of services that the poor so desperately need. We will work them to death until we have enough money and they are exhausted, at which point we shall close our businesses and send the poor away. Oh whats that? You have no jobs to go to and therefore no money? Well sorry that's to bad and not our problem. You should look after yourselves and your money more"

You really are clueless about how the population are affected by economic policy. You may know how to be able to influence stock market shares and BS like that, but when it comes down to it, you don't give a rats *rse about how your greed is affecting the working population who, ultimately generate your wealth for you in the first.

And in case you're wondering why I am so passionate about this subject and anti-capitalism, is because me and my family have seen first hand the horror and exploitation of unregulated capitalism, especially under Thatcher. It is you richer middle and upper classes who do not see what we have to endure just to raise enough for basic provisions to survive, while you live on the material and wealth WE have created for you.

Read The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists. It's a novel, but may begin to help show you how working class people like us are affected by your greed.

MessageThis tax is the definition of equal treatment: everyone is being treated of equal worth when tax time rolls around. As a matter of fact, I do know how tax policy works, I happen to be academically studying it at this time. Coming from a province in RL that has the most progressive tax and second largest govt in the country, I know how BIG government rapes the poor. All I have to do is look 6 provinces to the west to see how flat taxes and small government create an environment where poor people from my province wish to move there.

Economic growth comes from the amount of goods and services produced. That is how economic well-being is measured. This is not just some capitalist opinion, this is the textbook definition. Smaller government benefits the poor. More jobs, more capital resources, more opportunity for investment - all things that the poor need.

The system of exploitation you describe is one of an uncompetitive market, which is caused by government intervention or leftover government hierarchical establishments.

I live in a country that at one time had no income tax, no sales tax and a very federalist government. This system of liberty and freedom is what caused my family immigrate and set up establishment here. In 1840, my relatives purchased 100 acres of land for $41 dollars (before government inflation killed the dollar). This side of my family has been able to come from a poor, not free nation in Europe to becoming a successful family that still benefits from what is left over of capitalism. My family is not rich, but we get by. We are charitable. Before the income tax, my nation had 3 recessions in 100 years, each lasting less than a year. My family and their farm survived with ease. After the income tax, we have had 19 recessions, much longer in duration, in the last 93 years. My family lost that farm sometime in the progressive era of government expansion. Keep in mind that all of this success was before the implementation of farm subsidies.

Morally, the government has no right to steal from us. Morally, we have a responsibility to help the poor. We should care for the poor with compassion, by offering them jobs or giving them charitable donations. Government handouts will not do this. I have been given jobs by those much wealthier than myself, not because they want to exploit my labour, but because the worker and the employer are economically dependent on each other in a free market.

I’m sorry that your view of morality differs from mine. I’m sorry that you refuse to accept economic realities because of a bad experience you may have had.

Our GDP rose 135% because of this tax cut.

MessageYour extreme ignorance and refusal to listen amazes me.

I just said: You may know the workings of tax systems and capitalism, you you are completely unaware of HOW those systems and policies affect the people living under them.

It's called wilful ignorance: your greed for more cash ultimately makes you blind of the suffering your greed has caused.

"because of a bad experience".
Your complete lack of knowledge of the plight of the poorer classes makes me sick. I hate your kind with your economic jargon and stock shares and cries for lower tax, while you exploit the likes of me for more and more capital while taking away what WE NEED for what YOU WANT.

It's your fault we are poor in the first place, and our fault you're rich. Give us back what we gave you, or we'll take it back by force.

MessageThe study of tax policy examines how those systems affect the people.

I come from a working class family too. We have come a long way thanks to the free market. We are not exploiting anyone, we are simply working hard.

Poverty comes from many sources, I am not one of them. Your last sentence makes me believe that you endorse theft. That, my friend, is illegal and immoral.

Cheers.

MessageIndeed it is not.

It is impossible to become rich without cheating other people, as well you know.

You stole from us everything and now we want it back.
