Message | Agreed. That was my proposal a week ago, and DUP stopped it. Maybe we can try again now... |
Date | 22:43:36, November 15, 2005 CET | From | Dolgarian Imperial Revivalists | To | Debating the Policy on firearms |
Message | We see no reason for beat police officers to carry firearms, as it only increases the lethality of crime. |

Message | Police Officers with firearms seems pretty normal to us, and probably more disuasive. That's why we introduced the bill. |

Message | But police officers with guns= all criminals with guns. If a burglar believes that he might be confronted with armed police officers, he's going to take a gun with him, otherwise he won't. You need only look at the comparative murder rates in the US compared to the UK, the numbers speak for themselves. |

Message | That is absurd. If the police don't have guns, the criminals will use them even more often because they'll feel invencible. |

Message | Also looks at French numbers... Policemen are armed there. |

Message | Yea I think that 2 things firstly, the murder rates in each respective country are not relevant. They made all guns illegal in britain, so the murder rates are different obviously. However, if you look at Canada, where EVERYONE has a gun, then look at the murder rates, then you will find it is much lower than America as well. So the murder rates have little to do with the amount of guns available, and more with the amount of tensions and background of a country. As much as I hate michael moore, his movie "Bowling for Columbine" did make a good point on this issue (even though he oversimplified things a few times). Secondly.... What LPP said. |

Random fact: Large scale RP planning (such as wars, regional/continental conflicts, economic collapse, etc.) should be planned (as best as it can be) and should have consent of a majority of players involved. |
Random quote: "A return to first principles in a republic is sometimes caused by the simple virtues of one man. His good example has such an influence that the good men strive to imitate him, and the wicked are ashamed to lead a life so contrary to his example." - Niccolo Machiavelli |
