Details
Submitted by[?]: Socialist International
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 3077
Description[?]:
This bill is proposed as some of the defining features of SocIntern. We as a party feel that these issues are a major part of our government, and should be shifted into government control. Articles 1,2,3,4,9, and 11 deal with shifting major natural resources into public ownership, to ensure that the people are best provided for. 9 specifically deals with ensuring protection of our natural resources. Articles 5 and 8 serve to ensure a better society for our children. It is the SocIntern belief that children are the future and should be cared for. Article 6 establishes a national health care system under the control of the government, ensuring public health is kept under the best possible control. Articles 7 and 10 ensure that the workers of our nation are well-compensated for their work, and that corporations will be unable to have control of them. The worker is entitled to their fair share, and we seek to make sure they receive it. |

Message | I'd be willing to get behind Articles 4 & 9 if you want to split them into a separate bill (not that it matters since we don't have the numbers). The rest of them are too heavily restrictive upon the market place and the choice of the consumer. As the whole bill stands I'd have to vote no. |
Date | 02:34:03, February 14, 2011 CET | From | Labor Party | To | Debating the Public Ownership and Regulation of Natural Resources and Workforce |
Message | I agree with the LL on this. I'd vote yes for 4 &9, but this is overall too restrictive. It's better, perhaps, than what is in place now, but still not what the nation needs. |
