Bill: Stable, Qualified Government Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Movement for Universal Democracy
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 3084
Description[?]:
We recently assisted the defeat of two governments, including one which lasted a few RL hours. This is unsustainable in terms of political orientation and indicative of the exhausted model of the three big parties which continue to destroy Kalistan, but, fundamentally, it demonstrates the need for government employees who are not appointed for political trust, with a revolving door existing as there exists democratic alternance. This revolving door has an exit we do not know and can result in political corruption. We need a qualified government civil service who will not come and go with the years, but who has the technical expertise to direct efficiently and successfully governmental enterprise. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Appointments and requirements for government employees.

Debate
These messages have been posted to debate on this bill:
Date | 02:49:17, March 01, 2011 CET | From | Third Way | To | Debating the Stable, Qualified Government Act |
Message | Since we offered the same proposal a few years ago, which was defeated, we hold no reservations about voting for this proposal. |
Date | 05:19:27, March 01, 2011 CET | From | Socialist Party of Kalistan (SPoK) | To | Debating the Stable, Qualified Government Act |
Message | We emphatically oppose this bill. All appointments are political. A vote is in essence a statement of political preference. More importantly this act will make liars out of every person who appoints someone else, and everyone who seeks appointment. It may be a good idea, but ot is just not realistic. Nor is it enforceable. |
